Fara Iati | Administrator, Senior Researcher & Cultural Advisor

With a strong academic foundation in History and Indigenous Studies (BA, Canterbury; MA Indigenous Studies, Otago) and decades of community engagement, I bring a unique blend of research rigour, organisational skills, and deep cultural fluency to my role at Iati Consultants.

My career is driven by a commitment to bridging knowledge and community, from my early work as a Māori language tutor to my current senior research and administration responsibilities. I am a highly organised and hardworking professional, adept at multitasking and clear communication. As a natural team player, I thrive on collaboration and building positive relationships.

Fluent in both Samoan and English, I offer more than language skills—I provide a foundational understanding of Samoan culture, protocols, and community dynamics. This expertise, combined with my academic grounding in Indigenous perspectives, allows me to offer nuanced cultural advisory support, ensuring our projects are conducted with respect, relevance, and integrity across diverse contexts.
